I am a certified primary health care nurse practitioner (NP-PHC) for the past 11 years, with over 25 years experience in both high-stress and occupational health care environments. My experience spans emergency, critical care, occupational health & wellness, as well as medical aesthetics. As a Nurse practitioner originally trained in western, conventional medicine, I have integrated the best practices of Functional Medicine to create a focus on prevention through lifestyle medicine in alignment with the Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG)
Being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, I felt the effects of sustained stress on my body and started learning more about the interconnectedness of a healthy body and optimal wellness. It served as a pivotal point for me and I soon became certified in Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy and started my journey in Functional Medicine certification with the Institute of Functional Medicine.
My philosophy is mathematical in nature: a healthy mind + body + soul = balance
This equation is one I strive to bring to myself and my patients daily. My mantra also fuels my passion to get to the root cause of dis-ease. I've found myself deeply involved in helping my patients with ailments related to hormone imbalances such as low-test or menopause, adrenal fatigue, thyroid conditions, and other areas of practice relating to lifestyle, wellness, and medical aesthetics including autologous Platelet Rich Plasma.
As a NP-PHC, I am given the authority to see patients independently and perform controlled acts including diagnosing of common diseases, prescribing controlled substances and administration of certain treatments and medications as well as ordering basic diagnostic tests.
